Renowned for its innovative and high quality electrical underfloor heating solutions, Heat Mat announces the launch of an accompanying range of fabulously stylish, cutting-edge thermostats.
The new slimline Heat Mat thermostats are sleek enough to be discreet – yet so cool you might just want to show them off. Supremely easy to use with display screen text to guide the consumer, the Heat Mat underfloor heating thermostat range is a UK first in offering:
- A contemporary range of more than 40 colours and finishes, including matt red, matt blue, lime green, brushed aluminium, gloss black and lustrous purple
- A unique function that monitors the energy used by an underfloor heating system AND converts this into a cost in ££ and pence.
Heat Mat thermostats can be fitted to most electrical underfloor heating systems, whether new or existing. (Heat Mat’s own industry leading heating systems are BEAB and Semko approved and come with a lifetime guarantee).
“We developed this range in response to customer demand for stylish thermostats to incorporate into interior design”, says Heat Mat Director Dave Green. “Our customers were also interested in knowing how much energy they use and how much it costs.
“Heat Mat underfloor heating systems are more than 99 per cent efficient at converting electricity into heat and the capacity to monitor (and adjust) energy consumption through a thermostat makes them an even more cost effective and environmentally friendly option. “Our new thermostats allow people to monitor the electricity use and cost of their underfloor heating system, even on a daily basis. All they have to do is input the power of the heating system and the cost of their electricity units – and the thermostat will do the rest.”
Heat Mat thermostats monitor the air and floor temperature of a room, take account of how long it takes to heat the floor and adapt the heating system’s start and end time throughout the year to ensure energy efficiency. They must be fitted by a qualified electrician and come with a three-year guarantee. Made in Denmark for Heat Mat by OJ Electronics, they retail at £89 plus VAT.

More About Heat Mat
Based in West Sussex, Heat Mat specialises in electrical underfloor heating systems to fit beneath most floor coverings, including laminate, tiles, vinyl, carpet and even solid wood.
The most popular system to use is an ultra-thin heating mat, available in a range of widths with pre-spaced and fixed heating cable. However 3mm heating cables are also available for small or complicated areas.
Manufactured in the UK and Denmark, Heat Mat systems come with an industry leading lifetime guarantee. Prices start from £55 per square metre.
The systems are easy to install and can be fitted by the customer, although electrical checks and connection to the mains supply must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The systems are most efficient when fitted with Heat Mat thermal insulation board.
The type of mat used will depend on the floor covering. Fibreglass mesh mats come in outputs of 160W per square metre and 200W per square metre. The 160W mat is suitable for laying under tiles, carpet and vinyl, while the more powerful 200W mat is suitable for laying under tiles and natural stone – and is particularly suited to conservatories.
Heat Mat also produces a unique underlaminate system, featuring an aluminium sheet mat with pre-spaced heating cable and an output of 140W per square metre.
With more than 14 years experience of the UK underfloor heating market, Heat Mat is the number one supplier to the professional installation market.
