100W/sqm Heating Mats

100W/sqm underfloor heating mats are usually sold in Scandinavian markets and other areas where the standard of house insulation is very high, so there is not a requirement for more powerful systems.

In the UK the vast majority of suppliers no longer offer 100W/sqm heating mats as, although slightly cheaper to purchase, they can be more expensive to run and do not offer the fast warm up time of more powerful systems such as 160W or 200W/sqm systems.

One manufacturer states that only 100W/sqm can be installed directly onto wooden bases, however this is not the correct as Heat Mat’s BEAB approval documentation states that 160W/smq mats can be installed onto Marine plyboard bases.
