Underfloor Heating Floor Coverings – Bare Finish

In many industrial scenarios no finished floor covering is required and the floor is simply left as a screed or levelling compound finish. Electric underfloor heating is suitable for use in these circumstances and as all Heat Mat systems are IPX7 rated even minor water ingress into the floor surface should not damage the heating wires. (The underfloor heating system should never be used to dry out the floor however.)

Care should be taken however in circumstances where corrosive acids or other liquids may leach into the floor as these could, in theory, damage the outside insulation of the heating cable. It is always recommended to finish a floor with an impermeable surface covering in areas where such liquids may be spilt onto the floor surface.
