Marmox Thermal Tilebacker Board is ideal for use where underfloor heating is to be laid onto an un-insulated sub-floor or into a room such as a conservatory with high heat loss. The board is only 10mm thick and is particularly suited beneath tiles where a low build height is required.

An underfloor heating system laid onto Marmox will react faster and will run more efficiently than a system laid directly onto a concrete floor. Marmox is a structural board and can be used to secure floor boards prior to tiling.

Recently there has been a trend towards using non-structural insulation beneath a thin layer of tile adhesive or levelling compound. The insulation used is often extruded or expanded polystyrene, Depron or similar. We do not recommend using these products with underfloor heating unless a floating floor is being laid. They do not offer structural support and if a point load is applied there is a far greater risk of a failure in the construction.

Marmox reinforcement tape should be used when laying the boards to provide a secure join between separate panels.

Suitable for use under heating mats, 3mm cable and 7mm cable.
