guidelines laid out by our acreditors. Approval marks are
a straightforward way for us to prove our claims about
the quality and safety of our products.
The BEAB Approved mark - The BEAB System Approved Mark, an electrical safety mark, demonstrates that the UK's leading, independent approvals specialists have evaluated a product to the highest European and International standards. Systems are tested together to ensure that the heating mats, the manufacturer's instructions and the thermostats are all of a high standard and work in conjunction together. This is the highest accreditation an electrical underfloor heating system can achieve.
All Heat Mat's heating mats are fully BEAB System Approved when used with our CPS and TPS thermostats. Uniquely, Heat Mat's CPS thermostat is also BEAB System Approved in it's own right.

The BEAB Component Approved mark - The BEAB Component Approved Mark, an electrical safety mark, demonstrates that the UK's leading, independent approvals specialists have evaluated a product to the highest European and International standards. It is not possible to System Approve loose cable as the wattage output is dependant on how the installer chooses to lay it, however the Component Approval confirms the cable is of a high quality and suitable for it's purpose. This is the highest accreditation a loose electrical underfloor heating cable can achieve.
All Heat Mat's 3mm heating cables are fully BEAB Component Approved including Pure Heat and Pro Heat.

The BEAB Factory Approved mark - The BEAB Approved Factory mark confirms that BEAB have visited the factory and have confirmed that it meets the most stringent manufacturing and safety standards including factory testing of products before they are dispatched for sale. BEAB approved factories have to constantly maintain these standards to retain their approval.
All Heat Mat's heating mats, cables and thermostats are manufactured in BEAB Approved Factories.

The VDE mark - The VDE Approval Mark indicates conformity with the German test house's VDE standards, the European or internationally harmonized standards and confirms compliance with protective requirements of the applicable EC Directive(s).
All Heat Mat's heating mats and cables have achieved VDE Approval marks.

The Semko mark - The S marking indicates that the product has been tested by SEMKO, an independent testing laboratory from Sweden. It certifies that the product meets the safety requirements.
Heat Mat's Mirror Heaters are SEMKO approved.

The Kema Keur mark - The Kema marking indicates that the product has been tested by Kema, an independent testing laboratory based in the Netherlands. It certifies that the product meets the safety requirements they set down.
Heat Mat's Frost Guard is Kema Approved.

The Nemko mark - The N mark indicates that Nemko has tested the product according to the national standards safety regulations in Norway, making it certified based on safety requirements and compliant with the EMC Directive.
Heat Mat's Ribbon Underlaminate System is Nemko Approved.

The UL listing mark - UL Listing means that UL has tested representative samples of a product and determined that they meet UL's requirements, which are based primarily on UL's published and nationally recognised Standards for Safety.
Heat Mat's Ribbon Underlaminate System is UL Approved.

The EMC Safe mark - The EMC Safe mark certifies that the product has a low electromagnetic output below the threshold set down in national and international legislation.
All Heat Mat's heating mat and cable products are EMC Safe marked.

The CE mark - The CE marking (an acronym for the French "Conformite Europeenne") certifies that a product has met EU health, safety, and environmental requirements, which ensure consumer safety.
All Heat Mat's products are CE marked.
