Underfloor Heating Provides Minimalist Luxury
Heat Mat systems were chosen by Meloy Architects to provide a full heating system for The Kench, a luxury holiday chalet on the south coast of England.
The property has been designed in the spirit of the original chalets in this area and with an open-plan living area and floor to ceiling glazing an underfloor heating system provided the perfect solution to heating the property without needing to compromise on the design. The underfloor heating system ensures the available wall space is not 'wasted' on radiators and also ensures the rooms can be furnished as desired.
Key to choosing the components for the property was a wish to keep the ongoing maintenance costs to an absolute minimum and this is an area where Heat Mat systems lead the field. Once installed the system has no ongoing maintenance whatsoever, and the heating can also be set up to provide constant frost protection during the winter.
