Revolution in Bathroom Comfort: Wall Heating Mats

As bathroom design continues to evolve, homeowners and developers alike are seeking smarter, sleeker solutions to heating. One technology gaining rapid traction is wall heating mats — an elegant alternative to bulky towel rails and radiators. Combining hidden functionality with exceptional efficiency, these systems offer a modern way to maintain warmth, comfort, and convenience in any space.

Wall heating mats are quietly becoming the go-to solution for discreet, effective heating in modern bathrooms and en-suites. Whether you're designing a luxurious hotel suite or updating your home, Heat Mat's wall heating solutions offer warmth, comfort, and sleek integration without visible elements or hot-to-touch surfaces.

Invisible, Safe and Stylish

Heat Mat wall heating mats are ideal for tight or awkward spaces, such as small bathrooms and en-suites. They’re especially popular in hotel developments and contemporary flats. Once installed behind tiles, they are entirely invisible, making them the perfect combination of form and function.

The advanced technology includes a fully earthed heating cable and IPX7 ingress protection rating, ensuring safety and compliance with BS7671:2008. The mats also include pre-spaced cables to ensure even heat distribution and simple, consistent installation.

Why Choose Wall Heating Mats?

Traditional towel rails are often bulky and hot to the touch. Wall heating mats, on the other hand, provide a flat, tiled surface that stays comfortably warm—perfect for drying towels or simply adding ambient heat to a space.

Installation Made Easy

The mats are straightforward to install behind tiled surfaces using flexible tile adhesive and grout. They can be fixed in place using hot glue or staples (on the mesh only). Heat Mat also offers advice on installations using loose cable for complex layouts or curved surfaces.

Thermal insulation boards can be installed behind the mats to improve efficiency and prevent unwanted heat loss or moisture transfer into adjacent rooms. This is especially useful if the other side of the wall is particularly damp.

Built for the Future

Wall heating mats represent the next generation of electric heating—safe, silent, and reliable. With a wide variety of standard sizes and a rapid bespoke manufacturing service, Heat Mat ensures that virtually any project can benefit from this technology.

Did you know?
Heat Mat wall heating mats are produced in Denmark and are backed by more than two decades of experience in electric underfloor heating and snow melting systems.

Control and Compliance

These systems are typically paired with a wall thermostat using a floor sensor embedded behind the tiles. This allows for precise control and prevents overheating. Heat Mat thermostats are rated to 16 Amps, with higher loads easily supported using a contactor.

As wall heating falls outside the specific guidance of BS7671:2008’s S753, it is vital to follow guidelines on concealed cables and ensure the system is protected by a 30mA RCD.
