Flood damage

If a floor with electric underfloor heating suffers flood damage or sustained water ingress it is vital that the system is turned off as quickly as possible. In no circumstances should the system be used to ‘dry out’ the floor because moisture will escape from different sections of flooring at varying speeds which could lead to the floor covering cracking.

Once the floor has naturally dried a suitably qualified electrician should check the heating system and if approved the heating can then be used again. In the event that a heating system requires replacing after a flooding event Heat Mat have a policy of supplying goods at cost as a gesture of goodwill.
