Underfloor Heating Floor Coverings – Vinyl

When installing underfloor heating beneath vinyl floors care must be taken to ensure the correct output system is installed and that the heating can be easily limited.

Usually the vinyl floor is bonded down onto a levelling compound base, and we recommend installing 160W/sqm heating mats into this base rather than using a 200W/sqm system. The heating should always be covered by at least 10mm of levelling compound or similar. The thickness of the layer above the system helps the heating system to dissipate it’s heat and avoids ‘hot spots’ above each heating cable run.
